Current Graduate Student Members

Mihai Fonoage
Mihai is currently pursuing his PhD with Major in Computer Science at Florida Atlantic University. His thesis topic will be related to Component-Based Design Automation for Mobile Applications. His interests are Mobile Applications, Component-Based Design, UML, SYSML, Analysis, Design and Security Patterns, and Wireless and Sensor Networks.
Sifat Islam
Sifat is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Computer Engineering at Florida Atlantic University and his expected graduation date is spring 2006. His thesis topic is surveying, analyzing and designing functional blocks of Real Time Operating System. He held a summer internship at STARLIMS Corporation at Hollywood,Florida.
Fabiano Gomes Kovalski
Fabiano is pursuing a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering at Florida Atlantic University, and his expected graduation date is Fall 2006. His thesis topic is Modeling the Communication Backbone of Multi-core Systems/Network-on-Chip using MLDesigner. Areas of interest are: Embedded Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Software Defined Radio, Communication Systems, and Control Systems.
Mirela Marta
Mirela is currently pursuing her PhD with Major in Computer Science at Florida Atlantic University. Her thesis topic will involve Wireless Sensor Networks. Her research interests are: Wireless Sensor Networks, Embedded Systems, and Mobile Applications.

James Ansley
James is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree within the field of Computer Engineering. Interest: UML, XML, Semantic Web.
Gaietry Basdeo
Gaietry is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Her professional background contains QA Analyst background from three Fortune 100 Companies. She is currently researching TDD methodology for Motorola OPP Project. Interest include: Legal and Security aspect of the computer industry.
Shi Heng Guan
Shi is currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. His professional background includes designing websites and applications for FAU's Library. He is currently assisting with research in Evaluation of Performance in Systems. His interests are: Embedded Systems, Robotics and UML.
Alana Rae Longshaw
Alana Rae is an undergraduate student who is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering. Alana joined the OPP Project in the spring of 2006, and plays a role on the project as Project manager and Web Developer.  Interests: Multimedia, Web Development, Graphic Applications, and Java Programming.
Ricardo Sosa
Ricardo is an undergraduate student who is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He is currently administrating the CSI website, and his interests consist of XML, CSS, XHTML, XSLT, ASP, C, and C++.
Cyrus Trainor
Cyrus is an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering at Florida Atlantic University. His professional background has been with Systems Administration and programming web applications with Travelocity. He joined the OPP project as a research assistant in January 2006 and is presently working on Software/Hardware Co-development.  Research interests: Network on Chip, FPGA Design, Software Radio.

Uttam Thakore
Uttam is a dual-enrolled FAU High School sophomore. He joined the OPP project in the Fall of 2006 and has been researching XML/Graphic applications.

Dr. Ray Barrett Jr.
Ray Barrett has a PhD from the Electrical Engineering Department, Florida Atlantic University, an MS In CS from Nova University, and is a registered PE in the State of Florida. He has more than 40 years of industrial experience, having worked at Motorola Labs, Boynton Beach and Plantation, FL, as a Senior R&D engineer. He has more than 10 US patents. Camilo Cruz
Camilo graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in May '06. Interest/experience: Robotics, Al, Graphics and visual recognition, PC game development, Manufacturing, systems/materials-composites, and Web development.
Dr. Cyril Iskander
Cyril Iskander was an Assistant Professor in FAU's Electrical Engineering Dept. from 2003-2006. He is currently with The MathWork's Signal Processing and Communications Group. His research interests lie with Networks On Chip, Software Radio, Channel Modeling and Simulation, Performance Evaluation of Communication Systems, and Wireless Multimedia. Email: Iskander@fau.edu
Ankit Jain
Ankit has received his Master of Science degree in Computer Science in May '06. His thesis focus was "Software Decomposition for Multicore Architectures'. He has also actively researched in Specification Productivity and Component Design Field. He holds SCJP2, CCNA 2.0, A+ certifications. He has worked for Siemens ICN and has been a part of Motorola iDEN division since Jan' 03. Language Experience: C, C++, Java, TTCN, TSL, SQl, PL/SQL, VBS, JavaScript. Research Interests: Networks on Chip, Software Engineering, Concurrency Modeling, Component Flow Design, Reverse Engineering, and Software Decomposition.
Baldev Singh Mattu
Baldev has over 22 years of work experience in Telecommunication industry of which the last seventeen years were at Siemens Communication Systems in Boca Raton, FL. Baldev is currently working on the Verification aspects of the OPP Project.
Vanitha Selvan
Vanitha Selvan pursues her Master's in Computer Science and Engineering at Florida Atlantic University , Boca Raton , FL. She has been working as a research assistant on the OPP project funded by Motorola, since January 2003. Her primary research interest includes developing new methodologies to automate the flow from requirements documents down to code generation using UML, SDL and TTCN languages, and reverse engineering. Her present work involves automatic translation of UML 2.0 concurrent models to SystemC along with developing constraints using Object Constraint Language (OCL).
